Philosophy of Grief Support

I follow the grief "companioning" model of grief support, which highlights the importance of being present and supportive to individuals who are grieving. The companion or coach does not try to 'fix' or 'resolve' another person's grief; instead, the companion accompanies the griever on their journey to witness their pain and acknowledges that each person’s grief is unique. This model focuses on creating a safe space, free of judgment, expectations or timelines. Instead of helping someone to "move-on" from their grief, companioning encourages them to remember and honor their loved one.
